Shipping & returns

Getting it to you, and back if we must.

Firearms don't ship like ordinary packages, and returns follow the law rather than the usual retail rules. Here's exactly how both work.

Where we ship

We ship to the lower 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories aren't served yet. Some products carry state and local restrictions our checkout enforces automatically — if an item can't lawfully ship to your address or your dealer, checkout will tell you why.

How things ship

FirearmsShip to the licensed FFL dealer you choose at checkout — never to a residence. You complete the transfer in person.
NFA & suppressorsShip to your chosen SOT dealer and release only after ATF approval.
AmmunitionShips to your door with adult signature where the law allows; some states restrict direct ammunition shipment, and checkout will decline those orders.
Optics & gearShip directly to you at a US address, with no restrictions beyond export law.

Fees & timing

Shipping fees are calculated and shown at checkout before you pay. Most orders leave our fulfillment network within one to two business days, and typical ground transit runs about three to seven business days. These are general expectations, not guarantees — carrier delays, weather, and stock movement across our suppliers can affect timing.

The FFL transfer on arrival

01Your firearm ships to the dealer you selected; they call you when it lands.
02Bring a government photo ID and complete the ATF Form 4473 and NICS background check at the counter.
03Inspect the firearm before you accept the transfer — this is the moment to catch any problem.
04NFA items wait on ATF approval before they can leave with you.

Returns & inspection

Inspect before you accept.Once the Form 4473 is complete, a new firearm is legally a used firearm and cannot be returned to us. If something is wrong at inspection, refuse the transfer and we'll make it right. After a completed transfer, warranty claims go to the manufacturer.

If a background check is denied

If your dealer's background check comes back denied, the firearm cannot transfer to you and is returned to us. In that case we refund the purchase price of the firearm, less outbound and return shipping and a restocking fee of up to 15%. Transfer fees charged by your dealer are set by that dealer and are not refundable by us.

Accessories, optics & ammunition

Non-firearm accessories and optics may be returned within 30 days of delivery if they're unused, unopened, and in original packaging. Ammunition is non-returnable once it leaves us, for safety reasons. Return shipping on non-defective items is the customer's responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply to opened items.

Defective or wrong items

If a non-firearm item arrives defective or we shipped the wrong item, that's on us — contact us promptly, ideally within a few days of delivery, and we'll arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you. For firearms, catch defects at inspection and refuse the transfer; after transfer, manufacturer warranty applies.

Starting a return

Email sales@southernarmorygroup.com with your order number and what you'd like to return, and we'll walk you through it. Please don't ship anything back before you hear from us — unauthorized returns can be delayed or refused.
